I never thought I would have to attend so many classes in final year. This is really embarrassing especially for us final years. The words 'final year' and 'classes' were not used in the same sentence before this sem without being accompanied by the glorious "not attending". Things sure have changed. Bunking has become a privelage for those who have more than the required amount of "P"s on the attendance sheet.
The threat of being 'debarred' from giving the exam was in use earlier also, but never has it been enforced with such enthusiasm by the faculty and administration alike(the use of the word debarred confuses me here because I think it should be barred from giving exam, hmmmm maybe it's one of those english-is-a-funny-language thing, just like flammable and inflammable have the same meaning!). It has become a pain in the back-side. I know I always advocated that mass bunks are a bad thing and have ruined the college etc etc and I still stand by that. The problem is that we've developed this habit, ok ok this BAD habit, over the last three years and have become so good at it that we don't even have to announce a bunk, it's like we know just by looking at each other, it's a part of our genes now! To supress a natural instinct is never good I suppose but things seem to be working out at the moment, for the administration and the faculty only. It's a good move on the whole, the freshers will not get a bite of this forbidden fruit and it's all for the best. But we should be given some extra thought, after all old habits die hard! Haven't watched a movie for like a month now. Last I saw was Ratatouille which was a sort of a disappointment after Cars(that was one great movie) and The Incredibles(that was another one).
Obviously I've seen Chak De! and needless to say it was brilliant. My first thoughts after watching the movie were "finally another movie that's going to be tax-free because every person deserves to watch it and learn a fewthings from it". There have been many great sports-movies earlier, but not in Bollywood. This is a one-of-its-kind movie in India. Remember The Titans is my all-time favourite.
Lots of running around coming up in the days ahead. Mag work has started piling up, LF event approaching soon, things to do, places to go, lots of stuff to study and maybe make a buck or two too. If only some people would reply and say "No thanks" it would be so much easier to move on. Anyways, had a very good meeting today. Madam President was absent because of some urgent work so yours truly(vice-Prez) had to take charge. By the end of it all I had a sore throat and that's a good sign, a very good one. Just a few more knots be undone and we can be rest assured that what we put so much effort into over the past three years will not go to waste after we leave. I'm especially concerned about the magazine. Deepak, Yash and Shash are really good but I just want to remain involved somehow, have a look at things and make some decisions. I know it's not going to be possible but I don't want to let go. I'll kill those three if i don't get the copies of the magazines mailed to me as soon as they are published.
It's going to be tough to let go, I just hope it's the only thing I have to worry about letting go. I have to go to bed now, have @#$%&* classes tomorrow. Yawn.........
