I'm Good, So Are You

I believe everyone is created equal. Everyone has their strengths and their shortcomings. Everyone is really really good at atleast one thing. It maybe anything from being a very good writer to being an excellent sportsperson, from being good at balancing things on top of each other to breaking codes, from this to that. Basically it's one thing that you're the best at, or close to the best. Noone can take that ability away from you. The tough part is finding out what you are good at.

Those who can figure it out can become stars overnight, those who can't have a tougher time. Even being good at something people regard as useless is not considered useless once you show people how it's really done, and done well. Finding out what you're good at is not an easy task. Either you get the right opportunity at the right time and realise your potential, or you don't. That's the difference between a jack-of-all-trades and being a master-of-one.

Granted that all abilities can be perfected through the art of practice, but the natural touch does not have any substitute. It has that something extra, that something which is your siganture move, something which defines your existence like nothing else, something out of the ordinary like a fingerprint. Noone else has that same thing, yet all are equal, being as good as the other in their own domain.

I don't know what I'm really good at. I'm just a jack-of-few-trades, master-of-none so far. Waiting for that fateful moment of realisation....
