In-Fest-ation

I'm copying the posts I wrote for the Fest blog, this is 1 of 2:

I'm sure everyone who is reading this must have attended atleast one Fest in their college life. If by some unfortunate circumstances someone has not been able to, I'm going to try and tell you what it feels like.

There are many kinds of people in any fest. The ones who organise everything(these are the people you can see with ID cards around their necks and reams of papers in their hands running after/calling/shouting at/*censored* someone or the other), the ones who participate in everything and win almost everything(these are the ones you can see everywhere you go and whose names are announced constantly after regular intervals and which gets really irritating after a while), the ones who participate just because they feel they owe it to themselves for travelling this far(in other words, they are bored of just roaming about the campus) and finally the ones who just roam about everywhere searching for fun things to do without actually doing anything. I think that about covers almost everyone. If I left someone out, you don't exist!

The people who enjoy the most, according to me, are the organisers. They know everything and everyone, they control everything(and well almost everyone), they make people do what they want them to do, when they want them to do it and sometimes even change all this stuff according to their own convenience(and make life hell for some others), in short they are like Gods. You have to go to them for everything. They are the ones who can actually let their hair down and party after a hard day's work. That is the most complete feeling of content and celebration.

As for the others, well enjoyment is a very subjective term. Everyone can enjoy some or the other part of a fest, some might enjoy evrything, some people might even find it boring. But if you really want to enjoy, you have to get involved, get your hands dirty(clay modelling anyone? OK OK, bad one), get into the groove of things and dance to the tune of fun.

A Fest, as it is rightly called, is nothing but a festival, a celebration, an event of joyous proportions. It is like having a Christmas/Diwali break in the middle of the year, where the fun and games have been planned and to top it all, it's official! Can it get better than that? There's only one way to find out, BE THERE!
