Music and lyrics

There's something very different about music when you are able to sing along. You are engulfed in it, it fills up the senses, you can somehow understand the feelings that it was written to invoke. There are some songs that make you want to sing even though you absolutely can't and your voice starts to break up midway through a high note and annoys the hell out of everybody, there are some which you can recite like poetry and there are some that you just keep humming throughout the day, one random verse at a time. For eg. if you have heard Stairway To Heaven (if you haven't then go and do so right now!!!!), you would know it has a lot of verses. There was a time when I used to pick up from somewhere in between and just start singing out loud, my favourite line being ".....and she's buying a stairway to heaven", just like that, out of thin air. My friends hate me for my singing-out-loud habit, an iPod in my hand is like a weapon of mass destruction to them. For the record, I am not as bad as most of you guys.

To really sing along with your favourite artists, download MiniLyrics and make a playlist of your favourite songs, soundproof your room (highly recommended for bad singers) and press play.

Points: No points to people with private blogs who invite people that send "cute" messages asking them to look into the matter. I wish there was a way to block only some people.

One-liner: And she's buying a stairway to heaven.

Thoughts similar to this came to mind when i saw The Inconvenient Truth. Yup We're small.. as of now perhaps insignificant. That was the same perception about the Earth barely a century ago.. Look what we've done to it now?

I'm of the belief that understanding will give us power and thus significance, relative size not withstanding.

Understanding possibilities of large dimensions not only in space but in time as well. And who knows in many more dimensions. Are there universes like ours inside the particles forming quarks? Or is our universe a tiny spec of a sub-atomic particle in some other universe.. and what forces are significant at such humongous dimensions??

While writing my last I was convinced that ones we understand some of these fundamental questions.. We'll be significant enough..
