A Fascinating Adventure Ends

The much-awaited final book of the series is finally here. "Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows" lived upto te expectations and surpassed them easily too. This roller-coaster aventure puts everything else to shame. The pace is adrenaline pumping and you can actually feel your heart thumping against your chest as you want to reach the next page as quickly as possible. There are so many twists and turns with the element of suspense that keeps you hooked, and if you try to predict what will happen next, you will fail miserably. There is so much happening around Harry and Co. simultaneously that you'd think it'll be hard to keep track of but it's not. You are keyed in to every miniscule movement with every bit of detail you require. The ending is not revealed or can be guessed until it actually happens.

Before I read the book I was told that people were dying left, right and center but it isn't completely like that. A number of people do leave us though which, is devastating all the same. What is even more saddening is that it has all come to an end. JK Rowling included an Epilogue killing off any possibilities of more books. She didn't have to do that! And the Epilogue wasn't that great either. There were a few pages in the middle too which seemed reduntant and repetitive and could be given the skim-scan treatment, but only a few. We could really have done without the Epilogue though, there was no need at all and it seems that she didn't write it in the best of spirits either because it lacked something. A mediocre way to close a great book and an even greater story. Otherwise it's as good as it gets, and even better.

I can understand why she wasn't in great spirits when she wrote it. I was fearing the end of the book too and as I reached the end, my heart sank too when I saw that only a handful of pages were left to go. Harry grew up with us. We saw him, along with Ron and Hermione, take on everything the world of magic had to offer and come out on top everytime. We laughed with Fred and George and the other Weasleys, loved Hagrid, admired Sirius and Lupin, worshipped Dumbledore, loathed Malfoy, hated Snape and feared Voldemort but always kept our faith in Harry and his uncanny ability to conquer all. A simple boy with an extraordinary life.

Needless to say, a must read for everyone!
