Is there any job in the world that doesn't make you wanna leave it for something else? I need something like that desperately. I'm going crazy. I don't wanna be stuck in a plush office punching away on the keyboard in front of an LCD screen for the rest of my life, as if that option has arrived yet (note to the guys at HCL and Infosys: where art thou? I'm waiting, like hundreds of others, something is better than nothing). I have reached a point where I am checking out career related sites and giving tests. One of them said "common career choices for people like me are: Accountant, Compliance Officer, Historian, Financial Management, Administration, Auditor, Researcher, Office Management, Computer Science." Dammit!! I don't want to do any of this except if it offers really good money. Money solves almost all problems (even job satisfaction).
I went to D.U. today and watching the people there made me wanna go back to college. May be I should have taken the MBA thing seriously after all, this is the life! Double Dammit!!
One site said when you are considering a change of career, the first thing you should do is list your skill set (well it was the second thing, the first one was a sponsored link to take a test). OK so here goes: ummm.....I can.....do a lot of things like.........where's my resume.....yeah....so..........OK these are no good (unless I want to be an Auditor or another IT guy). DAMMIT!!
Seriously, I can't make a list of things I'm good at. I can list the things I like to do: reading, writing, following geeky tech stuff and sports, creative designing (give me a theme, a blank paper and someone who can understand what I'm trying to bring out on paper because I can't put it there myself, I'll just screw it up), detailing (wish I could explain this), strategy (how things should work), formulating new ideas, taking things apart and putting them back together, building stuff from scratch, listening to people and trying to help them out (sometimes I feel like a psychiatrist asking "how does that make you feel?") and can't think of anything else. Short list, and I'm sure I repeated stuff.
If any one reading this can help me find a suitable job then please oblige.
P.S. - Guys I need some help here. What am I good at except the usual garbage on my resume? Please tell me. This is freaking depressing.
